Validate your practice
The Degrees are La Cense diplomas, delivered by instructors trained in La Cense method. Each degree includes around fifteen exercises to carry out to develop skills in ethological riding. At the end of these diplomas, you obtain their equivalence in Ethological Riding Knowledge from the FFE, directly integrated into your license.
La Cense gives each graduate a colored cord, identifying the stage of their progress.
Le technical content of the degrees allows you to achieve the objectives of the “Practical on foot” part of Ethological Knowledge.
Most frequently asked questions
All courses include a theoretical part in the classroom and a practical part, on foot and/or on horseback. The teacher welcomes you every morning and gives you useful information for the smooth running of the course. Depending on weather constraints, the schedule may vary. Generally speaking, the practice is divided into two parts, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The theory is taught once a day.
The educational progression of the La Cense Method begins with the presentation of fundamental principles, which are useful throughout your learning. These are theoretical bases, an approach to the horse as a whole, within a defined framework; and technical bases, such as handling the equipment, the ability to master one's gestures and positioning as well as the implementation of automatisms in interactions with the horse. La Cense therefore recommends following the La Cense Method courses, starting with the Walking Education course.
The walking approach, with defined objectives and a marked progression, requires a new awareness of one's bodily attitude, one's positioning in relation to the horse and the means implemented to communicate with him. This learning phase is of even more interest to people used to working with horses, because they discover new sensations. They quickly transpose these new techniques when they go on horseback.
This question deserves to be studied on a case-by-case basis. In general, Cense recommends following the progression from the beginning, with the Education on Foot course. It is essential to fully validate a step before moving on to a higher step. This requires a perfect understanding of all the concepts implemented and transparency of vocabulary between teacher and rider. To avoid any misunderstanding or oversight, it is simpler to start your training course, in an educational environment, from the beginning. It is possible that there will be a few repetitions, but they often allow you to build your progress, on a solid foundation, to move forward faster and go further.
It is perfectly possible to follow the progression of the La Cense Method, only on the ground content, with the Walking Education, Freedom and Expert Freedom courses.
