The horizon of our story is to become a horse. They say that there are horse men, horse women. This is incorrect. There are also horse men, horse women, those who, by investing themselves with equines, have blurred the limits of their identity. They have striven to see a horse, feel a horse, move a horse, so much so that their gestures, their sensations, their view of the world, are turned upside down. Becoming a horse, agreeing to forget a little of the human in oneself.
It is from the awareness of the special relationship that unites man and horse that the La Cense project was born, a pioneering institution of ethological horse riding. Eager to share this know-how, Yann Arthus-Bertrand decided to continue his photographic project on horses and invited the writer-traveler Clara Arnaud and the professional artist-rider Emilie Haillot to develop with him a book that bears witness to the power of our relationship with the horse.
