Become an ethological riding teacher by obtaining the Certificate of Competence “Introduction to Ethological Riding” (CCIEE – formerly BFE EE 1). This training provides you with the essential tools to supervise your students and have them validate Ethological Knowledge 1 and 2. You will learn how to lead a ground work session, to share your knowledge of horse behavior and to build an ethological riding development plan adapted to your structure.

 

Prerequisites

  • Having 18 years minimum
  • Hold a valid FFE license
  • Hold a professional certification of level 3 or higher allowing the supervision of equestrian activities and listed in Annex II-1 of the sports code or in the process of training for one of these certifications (BEES, BPJEPS, DEJEPS, DESJEPS, or AQA, GTE, AE, ATE, CQP ASA, CQP EAE, CQP ORE, BAPAAT, BAP)
  • Have possession of Knowledge 3 of ethological riding from the FFE

Practical information

  • The face-to-face training takes place over 5 consecutive days, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 13:30 p.m. to 17:30 p.m.. The e-learning training takes place asynchronously, you can follow the courses at your own pace.

Program

This training allows you to train and take the exam of Certificate of Competence “Introduction to Ethological Riding”.

Theoretical training (e-learning):

  • The sensory world of the horse, communication in horses and the principles of learning
  • The consequences of predatory behavior, social life in horses and horse temperament

 

Educational training (e-learning and face-to-face):

  • Presentation of the exam, preparation of the project and construction of the educational session and the commented demonstration (e-learning)
  • Choice of session objectives in relation to the learning objectives of Knowledge 1 and 2 (face-to-face)
  • Preparation of educational sheets relating to preparation sessions for Knowledge 1 and 2 (face-to-face)
  • Management of the consistency of the proposed situations with the set objective, the consistency of the instructions given and the corrections (face-to-face)
  • Leading educational sessions using elements to develop technical skills and create a dynamic atmosphere (face-to-face)
  • Discussions on whether or not the objectives set by the session have been achieved, addressing federal technical terms related to ethological riding (face-to-face)
  • Management of the different phases of a session for a group of riders on foot, with a view to preparing for Knowledge 1 and 2 (face-to-face)

 

Technical training (face-to-face):

  • Driving with the horse a ground work session aimed at facilitating or improving the handling of the latter on Knowledge 1 and 2
  • Analysis of the horse, the chosen objectives and the implementation situations, on the horse's behavior and the analysis of the weak points of a session
  • Using knowledge of equine ethology to justify choices

Examen

At the end of the training, you take the CCIEE exam by passing :

  • Modality A: Oral presentation of an action plan for integrating ethological riding into the equestrian structure.
  • Modality B: Conducting an introductory session to ethological riding.

 

It is necessary to validate both modalities to obtain your exam. This will take place on the last two days of training. You will be summoned only on one of the two days. Please contact us at formations@lacense.com if you wish to take the exam at a later date.

The exam registration fee is €150 and must be paid upon arrival for training.
